Now, this is gonna be on tire size 225/60R18, so do be sure to check your tire information, plug it into our fit guide, and find the right tire chain for you, because there are multiple options for the Outback, and this chain may not fit all of them, but the installation process for the right size chain is gonna be the same. Now, with tire chains on your Subaru, there are some things we need to take note of. Subaru doesn't explicitly approve or recommend tire chains in their owner's manual, but they do say if an extra traction device is to be used, that it needs to be SAE Class S certified. And what that means is your vehicle has limited wheel well clearance, and they don't want super large tire chains sticking up and maybe making contact with suspension components or the wheel well and causing damage to your vehicle. more

Hey everybody, Cooper here from etrailer. Today we're going to be taking a look at our Konig self tensioning tire chains on our 2023 Subaru Outback. While this tire chain does fit a variety of sizes today we're going to be looking at it on our 225/60R18s. If you look into your owner's manual, you actually see that Subaru advises against using tire chains but they do recommend if some sort of device has to be used that it is SAE S Class certified which our tire chains here are today. Looking at our tire chains we'll be able to see that it is that diamond pattern. So while ladder pattern helps you with your starts and stops, the diamond pattern is going to give you a little more control on the turns. more

Hey everybody, how's it going Today we're gonna be going over and show you how to install the Titan Alloy Snow Tire Chains here on our 2019 Subaru Outback. So please note the tire size that we're gonna be using today for this installation on our Outback. This is gonna be 225 6018. So if we take a closer look at the actual links, you can see they have a sort of a square pattern and what the square pattern does is, it does a great job of really helping bite into that snow or ice to give us the best traction possible. Now, in addition to the square links, we also have what's known as a diamond pattern. You can see we're spanning across the section here of the tire, then going down sort of looking like that diamond. more

These 30 case-hardened steel chains come with square links and a ladder pattern design which will give you better grip on both snowy and icy roads. These can be used with both rear and front wheel drive cars and are designed for highway use, not off road applications. These are SAE class S chains which means they work well with vehicles with limited wheel well clearance. Today on our 2006 Subaru Outback Wagon, well be installing the Titan Twist Link Snow Tire Chains, part number TC1138. These are SAE class S chains. Well be installing these tire chains on tire size 225/55-17. Well be installing the tire chains on the backs of the tires. Well begin our installation by first laying the tire chain flat out on the ground to undue any kinks or tangles. This will ensure that the tire chain will fit correctly around our tire. Now at the 12:00 position, we can pick up the tire chain and drape it over the tire, making sure the hooks are facing outward. more

Today on our 2006 Subaru Outback Wagon, we'll be installing the Pewag Snox Pro Self-Tensioning Snow Tire Chain, part number PWSXP560. These are SAE Class S chains. We'll be installing these tire chains on tire size 225-55/17. Now since this vehicle is all-wheel drive, we'll be installing the tire chains on the back set of tires. We'll first begin our installation by grabbing the chain by the red bungee which goes around the back side of the tire. We'll pull the chain out, making sure it is on the outside, making sure that large plastic Pewag symbol is at the 12:00 position on the backside of the tire. We'll need to press in the red button here on this buckle which will release the silver piece from the locking mechanism. This will give us that extra slack when we're positioning the tire chain around the tire. more

Thule CL10 Snow Tire Chains Review - 2011 Subaru Outback Wagon

Today on our 2011 Subaru Outback Wagon with tire size P22560R17 well be installing the Thule CL10 Tire Chains using part number TH04255104. All well need to do is lay the chain out on the floor and running from the back of tire toward the front well run the blue cable around the inside of the tire. We then grab the cable at both sides of the tire and bring it up around from the inside toward the top of the tire where we can then make our connection. Well then drape the chain over the tire allowing the blue cable to fall towards the inside of the tire. Here on the outside well use the red chain link as well as the red hook on either side of the chains to make our connection here on the outside at the top of the tire. Well then continue to let the chain drape over the tire towards the bottom of the tire where well then take our cable and run it through the chain tensioner pulling it taunt where well then move up to the tension assembly and bringing the tension assembly down and hook it to the cable. more

Today on our 2011 Subaru Outback Wagon with tire size 22560R17 well be installing the Thule CG9 Tire Chains part number TH00023104. Now this is a very simple tire chain to install. Well simply slide the chain from the rear toward the front of the vehicle around the inside of the tire. Well then grab the blue cable on both sides of the tire and bring it up around towards the top of the tire and hook it together. Well then allow the blue cable to move towards the inside of the tire and well grab the chain where we can then make our connection using the red eyelet loop and red hook to connect it together here on the outside. Well then bring the chain around the tire evenly toward the bottom here on the outside. more
